Good morning lovelies!
For the first featured pinup of the month for to 2014, I’ve selected the 1940’s hollywood actress and icon, Veronica Lake. She was one of the most beautiful women of her time, with a truly defining look of a sultry look, peek-a-boo hairstyle covering the right side of her forehead, voluptuous figure, and glamorous dresses.
Veronica Lake debuted her career 1939, with her breakthrough role being in the 1941 war drama I Wanted Wings, where she played the second female lead. She starred in many leading roles in other films such as Sullivan’s Travels, The Glass Key, I Married a Witch, and The Blue Dahlia among many others. She was well now for her deme fatale roles.
Veronica Lake was also well known for being paired onscreen with the actor Alan Ladd, which was done due to Miss Lake being 4 feet 11 and a half inches, and he was 5 feet 5 inches, which made her appear a taller.
Veronica Lake, Gene Tierney, Lauren Bacall, and Rita Hayworth were all inspirations that aided the created of Jessica Rabbit.
Much love,
