Sunday Pinup Tip: Skincare

Good afternoon lovelies,

Vintage makeup is something that can take a long time to master, but even after mastering the fundamentals, application doesn’t always turn out perfectly and more often than not this is due to poor skin condition from improper care. This week’s Sunday Pinup Tip is giving a few tips on how to make your skin fabulous before you apply your makeup for the best possible finish, and will also make you feel more confidence having beautiful skin.

Skincare Tips:

  1. Get a skincare regime:
Cleansing, toning and moisturising in the morning and night is key to starting your makeup with a fresh canvas. Its important that you identify your skin type, and find matching products to this, if you’re unsure of this, it may be best to consult a beauty therapist about what products will suit you most. I’ve previously written a blog on this topic which can be read by clicking here!

  2. Moisturise:
Your face and your whole body, a lot of people experience a tightness in their skin, and think because its tight and firm, and preventing wrinkles but what can actually be the cause is dryness is the skin which overtime can make your skin discolour and even crack. Moisturising keeps your skin feeling healthy, hydrated, soft and blemish-free.
  3. Drink lots of water:
Keeping your body hydrated helps clear out toxins and inflammation from the body as well helping your skin feel free, and reduce discolouration.
  4. Wear sunscreen:
Sun damage can significantly age our skin, and can cause wrinkles, which is easier prevented by wearing sunscreen to prevent skin cancers, and wrinkles. Wearing hats and clothes that protect our skin will also reduce skin damage.
  5. Eat healthy:
Eating unhealthy foods causes inflammation in our bodies that causes blemishes on our skin, healthy foods are not only great for our health and make us feel more confident, but also help control inflammation in our bodies.
