Good afternoon lovelies!
Thankfully Friday is here again, and the weekend is upon us. Each Friday I’m featuring a fabulous vintage cocktail to celebrate the end of the working week. I think my favourite part of this blog is drinking the tasty drink whilst writing!
As always please remember if I have any underaged readers, the legal drinking age within Australia is 18, so make a mocktail version if so! Below I have listed one of my favourite songs by Glenn Miller & His Orchestra to get us in the mood for some glamorous cocktail making!
For this week’s cocktail I’ve chosen the Gimlet, a simple cocktail that dates back to 1852, but really gain popularity in the 1940’s/50’s. I love cocktails which don’t have too many ingredients and are simple to make as for dinner parties they’re the easier to prepare.
Ingredients:
– 2oz Gin
– 2oz Lime cordial
– 0.5oz Water
Simply stir the ingredient together, and serve. I’ve chosen to also add about 4 sprigs of mint for a fresh but flavour. I’ve serve this in a simple martini glass for a classic look. The Gimlet is a delicious zingy cocktail perfect for these warmer summer nights. Whether having a night in with your sweetheart, of having friends over its simplicity suits any occasions!
Cheers to the weekend!
More vintage vlogs and blogs coming real soon!
Much love,
