My Thoughts On New Year Resolutions

Hello lovelies,

2015 is here, and I can’t tell you how excited I am for this year, so many exciting projects, classes and so much more! With the New Year people all around the world make their yearly resolutions, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on this topic.

I haven’t gone out of my way to put together a big new year resolution, this isn’t because I don’t think goal setting is a bad idea, but because I’m constantly setting myself goals, and I think you should be too. If we all only try and formalise our goals and dreams once a year I don’t think we’d achieve what we wanted, as I’m sure most of us have made a huge New Year resolution that we’ve broken soon after the year begun.

I’m not saying don’t make any New Year resolutions, but don’t forget make yourself resolutions all throughout the year! I mention this many times during my blog, but write down your aspirations, it helps you stay focused, and I can’t tell you just how good it feels to tick one of those bad boys!

I think you should always reach for stars, but be realistic, setting ourselves unrealistic dreams can be setting us up for failure, at the same time its when we push ourselves outside our comfort we can achieve great things. Do things gradually, if you’re improving your health, and its something you’ve struggled with for a long time, introducing and deducting things slowly can be a better idea, than just an extreme change.

Not all goals you set will be achieved, some may take more work than you expected but if you’re truly passionate for something, you’ve got to make sacrifices, endure failure and push beyond it all to get what you want. In a dance class last year while I was studying, a teacher said to us “Success is keeping the same energy between failures until greatness is achieved”, and I couldn’t agree more, I’m a very optimistic person but success doesn’t come without blood, sweat, and tears, but the reward far out ways the pain.

If a resolution really can’t be achieved, no matter what way you look at it. Don’t be too hard on yourself, you can’t start a journey without the first step, and you’ve taken it, you should appreciate this, and you can channel your energy into something even more amazing now.

Dream big for 2015 and make it happen!
