Hello lovelies,
Last year my beautiful fiancé and I bought our first home together, its a beautiful 3 by 1 which we instantly fell in love with the first time we visited it. We’ve now been living here six months and we’ve decided to make our first renovation, to make it more of a vintage paradise. The house itself was built the same year that I was born, and we’ve embellished with beautiful vintage furniture and art to make it feel more like a house from the 1950’s.
For our first project we’ve decided to work on our kitchen, the cupboard and bench tops were all a little outdated and weren’t set up very practically (two cupboards were blocked by the oven).

These photos are during demolition and reconstruction:
The project has certainly been a lot more stressful than I thought it would be, but we’re slowing getting there, with lots of help from my great dad who is a handy man wizard! Our next major decision is pick our wall tiles, at the moment we’re picking between checkers in either mint and cream or black and cream, and we’d love your in put! I feel the mint has a softer look, but the black is just so classic.
Here are some inspiration photos for different looks that have inspired me for our kitchen:
I’m hoping with our next lot of work I’ll start taking photos to demonstrate a few simple DIY tricks to making your house more vintage, some will be for those doing more drastic renovations and others will be simple enough that even if you’re renting!
More vintage vlogs and blogs coming soon!
