Oh Henry!

Hello lovelies!

What a fabulous week it was last week, spending time working at Honey Birdette, then every evening of last week having either classes or shows on! After a long week I was so very excited for my day off on Sunday, and I was looking forward to going vintage shopping. I had a little sleep in and brunch out with my sweetheart and then we were off. This was rather exciting as I hadn’t been in the vintage stores in the City in quite a while! We visited a few stores, but I must say Oh Henry Vintage was my favourite! Located 312 William Street in Northbridge, its a fabulous vintage boutique specialising in items from the 1920’s – 1990’s.

Oh Henry Vintage is a beautiful store with two storeys of beautiful clothing which has something for every vintage lover. The lovely owner is very passionate for her work, and sources most of her store’s clothing from America. I’ve only been into Oh Henry a few times before, as I don’t often get into the City, but I’ll definitely be in more after this amazing trip!

They have a glamorous collection of vintage frocks and it didn’t take me long to find a few items to try on! I picked out a beautiful 1960’s day dress, and two stunning wedding gowns; as some of you know Matthew and I are getting married in October 2016! The day dress is stunning, it has a beautiful waistline, neckline and pattern! I knew this 1960’s piece would be coming home with me!

The two wedding dresses were simply stunning, pictured below is the first I tried on, I liked this, but the second was breathe-taking, I didn’t include a photo of this as I’ll be going back to try this on again! For our wedding we have a “Vintage Fairytale” theme, I have already bought one quite inexpensive 1950’s dress, but I’m hoping to try the one I already have and compare this to the one I tried on at Oh Henry!

For Sunday I wore my new 1950’s blouse of which I bought for Dita Von Teese, through the Depop app, a beautiful 1980’s skirt my mother-in-law gave to me, with a waist tie, and vintage jewellery accessories.

A friend asked me to share a photo of my hairstyle, and said I should share more of the complex hairstyles I wear. I often style quite intricate looks, but for some crazy reason I hadn’t thought to take photos of them! This is something I’ll definitely be changing! For my hair I styled a cute undo with a poodle-fringe feel!

We then went to a friend named Sooj Mitton’s art show on Beaufort Street at Behind The Monkey store. Her show did tremendously well, and from what I saw she sold most of the pieces she had there!

To finish this wonderful day I had a glass of champagne in front of our faux fire place with my sweetheart. I’m excited for work this week has to bring!

More vintage blogs coming real soon!

Much love,
