Friday’s Vintage Cocktail!

Hello lovelies!

Today I have for you all my fabulous Friday’s Vintage Cocktail blog! To celebrate the weekend I’ll be concocting a decadent cocktail from the golden age of glamour! As always please be sure to drink responsibly, and if any younger readers stumble across my blog, abide by your states drinking laws, you can always make the non-alcoholic version of this!

Today I’m making the delicious Planter’s Punch cocktail, which I’ve seen on a quite a few vintage tiki styled drinks menus! When I think of this cocktail the song Bali Hai by 101 Strings comes to mind with an exotic feel, so for tonight even though the weather is a little chillier now in Australia pop on some tiki styled tunes and sip away on the Planter’s Punch! Tonight I have planned a lovely evening in with my beautiful partner Matthew, we’ll make up some cocktails, dine on a delicious dinner and play some board and card games. Nothing makes me happier than spending my time with him.

  • 1 jigger of dark rum.
  • Juice from half a lemon.
  • Pineapple and organge juice or another juice. (I blended together cranberries, kiwi and plum!)
  • Chopped fruit to garnish, I also used a hibiscus flower!
  • A dash of grenadine.
  • Soda water.DSCF0552

  1. In a cocktail shaker add your fruit juice, rum, grenadine, and lemon juice, then shake well.
  2. I added some fruit into the bottom of the glass for extra flawed, then poured in my mix.
  3. Top with soda water, or maybe even a soda water mix (you can get mango mineral water and other tasty options too).
  4. Sit back and relax with you cocktail!

The flavour of the Planter’s Punch is divine! It’s quite a versatile drink in the sense you can mix match ingredients for different flavours! While this drink is a tropical treat, it can be enjoyed anywhere anytime of the year. I love to romanticise, I love to create atmosphere, dim the lights, light some candles, put on some tunes, turn off your phone and drift into another world of cocktail bliss!

I do hope you have a fabulous weekend!

PS. In today’s video I’m wearing my hair flower from Daisy Jean, shorts from Dolly Von Blonde, cardigan from target, and necklace from Erstwilder!

PPS. The photos in this blog were taken my camera, rather than on my phone. I’m still perfectly the editing of these. Any advice would be warmly welcomed!

Much love,

I love how you decorated the cocktail with a flower. I look forward to giving this recipe a try. Thanks for sharing it with us! ♥
