A few weeks ago I received my most recent package from Daisy Jean Floral, an amazing Australian-based hair flower company of which I have the honour of being on of the faces of the company for 2016. Miss Osiria Rose is the company’s owner who is talented in so many different fields from modelling to photography, she started Daisy Jean in 2014 and it has flourished ever since!
For my order I selected a few glamorous flower pieces, and I was very excited to be receiving my first lot of jewellery items as they had branched out into this too very recently! For those who follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook, you would have seen all these beautiful items from Daisy Jean as I often wear them day-to-day as well as utilising them in photoshoots and performances. Before reviewing a product I really enjoy taking the time to wear it as much as I can so I can understand the style, fit, and the quality so I can best pass on my experience to all of you.
I adore the jewellery collection that Daisy Jean have created, they’re collection has a very mid-century vibe to them with the shapes and colours used. It’s really fabulous too that you have the option of selecting either clip ons or studs for the closure! I also love that they have so many variations with different colours, textures, shapes and finishes, so whether you’re looking for a statement evening piece with a bit of glitter, or a pearl finish for daywear, you can find it all!
I ordered Holly’s Resin Hoop Earrings in peach (left above) and Heather’s Big Resin Teardrop Earrings in glitter gold (right above). They’re both truly beautiful pieces, that are made incredibly well, and I love that they’re so lightweight, even with my large teardrop earrings. I’ve worn them for a few events now and I’ve received so many compliments for them!
Styling with these pieces I’d go with a later 1950’s, early 1960’s aesthetic, think Mad Men glamour! I think accessorising is your best friend as a pinup, I’m very much a believer in not needing to spend much a lot to achieve a fabulous look, and investing in lots of accessories keeps your vintage look fresh with staple wardrobe pieces!
Cherry madness, this piece is just too cute! It features a wicker base with white flowers, four cherries and a cute little ladybird, it also has a felt base and an alligator clip which is very easy to put into any hairstyle! This piece makes feel uplifted and cheery, even on the coldest winter’s day it brings a little spring sunshine! I adore that the cherries are in different colours as a normal cherry pair would be! This piece is amazing, but it is one which I wear with a certain outfit in mind to match cherries together to create a really standout look!
The Felicity Double Orchid is the perfect accessory and I’ve found it to be really easy to wear with so many outfits as the colours match so many different looks! As the name says it features two beautiful white orchids with purple highlights, with a few leafs behind these and a felt base with alligator clip to clip in very easily. One very cool features to this flower piece is that is actually feels like a flower, the material used for the petals is so very lifelike and in person this gives it a more lively look, as if you’re actually wearing real flowers fashioned into a headpiece!
Daisy Jean are also branching out into different fabulous items such as snoods, scarves and more exciting things coming real soon! They also make custom orders and have ranges from tiki to burlesque so you’ll surely find a piece to suit any occasion!
I’m a lover of Daisy Jean, and believe they sell truly beautiful high quality items. They’re an Australian company and we should all do all that we can to support businesses here. The cherry on the top is that Miss Osiria Rose is such a beautiful woman inside and out who supports other women, and promotes body confident.
Be sure to stay tuned as I have so much more vintage fun coming this week!
