Friday’s Vintage Cocktail!
Hello lovelies,
It’s Friday and the weekend is here, and that means it’s time for my weekly vintage cocktail blog! On Friday’s I share a fabulous true vintage or true vintage inspired cocktail with you all to celebrate the weekend being here! As always please be sure to drink responsibly and if any younger readers come across this, be sure to abide by your states drinking laws.
Today I have for you all the delicious Banana Daiquiri cocktail recipe! The Daiquiri cocktail dates back to the late 1800’s in Cuba, but the first Banana Daiquiri wasn’t concocted until the 1950’s, with St Thomas’ Mountaintop Bar in America believed to be the place of conception of this delicious drink!
Ingredients:
- The juice from one lime.
- 2 tablespoons of sugar or a sugar syrup.
- 1 cup of ice.
- 1 ripe banana.
- 2 jiggers of rum.
Method:
- Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
- Strain into an elegant cocktail glass. I didn’t have a cherry on hand, but I think this would make for a glamorous garnish on a toothpick for next time!
- Relax to some vintage beats, and drink!
Oh boy, this cocktail is unbelievably delicious! It’s light, with a velvet texture and a delicious banana flavour, you can’t even taste the rum! The Banana Daiquiri is really refreshing, and addictive. This drink would be fabulous for a midcentury tiki party, but really any occasion is perfect for this cocktail! This recipe is fabulous, but you can always improvise and add in extra ingredients if you please, to invent your own daiquiri!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
Much love,
