Friday’s Vintage Cocktail!

Hello lovelies!

The weekend is here, and I’m so very excited to be sharing with all of you my Friday’s Vintage Cocktail blog post! On Friday’s I share a fabulous true vintage or true vintage inspired cocktail with you all to celebrate the weekend being here! As always please be sure to drink responsibly and if any younger readers come across this, be sure to abide by your states drinking laws.

I just recently received my copy of the Soundtrack for Seduction put together by Dita Von Teese with 12on12 which is just fabulous so I’m playing it today while concocting today’s cocktail! It’s sweet and smooth like today’s fabulous cocktail, The Matador! The Matador is a fabulous vintage cocktail which is a variation of the margarita, I’ve seen it in recipes books that date back to the 1940’s though the exact origin is unknown as I believe it’s likely to be created when someone was either playing around with the margarita recipe, or missing ingredients and made this!

If you’re enjoying a drink with me this evening take the time to set the mood, light some candle, select some glamorous tunes, and get ready for a delicious treat!

The Matador:

  • The juice of half a fresh lime.
  • 1/4 cup of pineapple juice.
  • 1 jigger of tequila.
  • Ice.
  • Fruit to garnish, I use a lime slice, half a canned pineapple slice, and a cherry.

  1. In a cocktail mixer add all ingredients not including your garnish and shake well.
  2. In a decadent cocktail glass strain the mixture and garnish with fruit.
  3. Enjoy your lovely drink, it taste even sweeter with handsome company!

I’d been craving something opulent with Tequila, and upon researching I found this delicious recipe, and I could hardly wait to try out! After my first sip I wanted so much more, its so sweet and soft, it’s delicious fruity flavours are so satisfying and extravagant. While I think any cocktail can be drunk anytime during the year I think this would make a great springtime cocktail as the flavour would match the weather perfectly. This drink is definitely for a sweet tooth!

I hope you’ve all had an amazing and inspiring week, and I hope you have a glamorous weekend!

I was only able to put a short video together on Thursday, so my weekly video will be posted up tomorrow morning! Be sure to stay tuned for more vintage glamour.

Much love,
