For today’s fabulous blog I’m sharing with you my morning stretch routine. This is the first video of my new Pinup Fit series, it’s something I’ve been planning for so long but I’ve finally put together my first video for this.
Stretching is something I’m really passionate about, I’ve been training for over a decade, and teaching stretch techniques for many years. Starting your morning with a stretch sequence prepares your body physically and your mind mentally for you day ahead and will also help with flexibility and mobility. I do hope you find this video useful.
Stretching safely is really important, know you body’s limits and be careful, achieving a big stretch at the cost of over-stretching, tearing a muscle or another injury isn’t worth it, trust me I’ve learnt the hard way. Be sure to warm up your muscles before you stretch. In today’s video we’re doing static stretches, which is one of the safest and most effective ways to stretch, we’re stretching a muscle and holding this for 10-30 seconds, I’m holding most of these poses today for 4 really deep breaths. We want to avoid a ballistic stretch, this is where we bounce in a stretch to try and achieve maximum flexibility, but this can be really dangerous as it can create micro-tears in muscles which can lead to more severe issues.
