Trying A 1940s Beauty Tutorial

Hello lovelies, today I’m trying a 1940s beauty tutorial from a vintage beauty book I have called, “Be Beautiful” by Jean Cleland. From a little research the book looks to be published in Sydney in, 1946, and this was a book apart of the Australian Women’s Weekly Home Library Series. Be Beautiful is a guide to vintage beauty with chapters on skincare, makeup application, haircare, fitness, grooming, poise and grace.

In today’s video I’m sharing a tutorial from chapter nine of this book on the art of makeup, I’m following the instructions which are coupled with beautiful illustrations. I demonstrate my own attempt of this, and my thoughts on the result and application. My style is definitely a bold modern vintage infusion when it comes to makeup, but today is very much a natural 1940s look.

If you’d like to see more videos where I follow vintage tutorials and other such fun do let me know in the comments below!
