Hello lovelies,
Today I’m adding a fabulous new addition to my blog on vintage cocktails! Each Friday I’m going to feature a vintage cocktail, make it up and drink it up to celebrate the weekend! Please remember if there are any under-aged readers, the legal drinking age in Australia is 18 years old; you can definitely adapt the recipe to be a mocktail though.
Today I’m featuring the Margarita a drink that originates from the 1930’s/40’s, while there is some debate of how this drink came to be, I have a beautiful video below by Cointreau and Dita Von Teese below which highlights one of origin stories of the Margarita.
For this cocktail you’ll need:
Simply stir the ingredients in your vintage glass and you have yourself a Margarita. You can shake the ingredients together, but it tastes just as lovely mixing. I also like to garnish and use lime slices in the drink to add the extra fruity flavour.
What I love about this drink is its simple to make, it doesn’t have too many ingredients and tastes fresh and delicious. With its rich citrus flavour it’s the perfect summer cocktail. Below I’ve included another video by Cointreau and Dita Von Teese which is a twist on the classic Margarita recipe to make the MargaDita for those who’d like to try something a little different!
More vintage vlogs and blogs are coming soon!
