Hello lovelies,
If you’re reading this blog it’s more than likely that you love vintage things, pinups, old films, glamorous clothing, and all that comes along with vintage lifestyle. Some of you may dress in a pinup style everyday of your life, some of you may dress pinup when you feel like, and some of you may be new and afraid to dress vintage for a number of reasons. Today’s blog is more for those who are newer to vintage, today I want to challenge you, I want you stop dreaming of the way you could be, the life you could have, and take action, this is the Vintage Glamour Challenge, the challenge for you to be the pinup queen that you are.
I really enjoying dressing up, taking my time to apply my makeup and style my hair, I love the hunt of visiting op shops, I love making new vintage loving friends (of which I’ve made so many through The Perth Pinup Community), I love decorating my home in a vintage style, and I love every little bit of what I do. These are the things that make me happy, as well as so much more, we may share similar interests or maybe you’re reading this having a completely different thought of what makes your happy which is completely okay too, we are all individuals with our own interests and styles. If you’re new to vintage though really think about the things that make you happy, or how you’d like things to be; maybe you want to dress in beautiful swing dresses, maybe you want to enter a pinup contest, maybe you want to see a rockabilly band live or maybe it’s something else. I love making lists, so if you do too list the things that make you happy or how you’d like vintage a part of you’re life, or what you’d like to do.

I’ve spoken about this in my blogs and YouTube videos many time before but vintage glamour has so much power, it’s given me a whole life, beautiful friends, my style, my confidence and so much more. I truly believe if you open your heart to it; it can change your world. The only limitations you have are those you put on yourself, it’s time to break those chains. We make ourselves unhappy by not being who we are, holding yourself back won’t make you happy. You’re beautiful, you’re unique, and your deserve to be happy.
Below I’ve listed a video for those who you new to vintage on how to start dressing pinup.

Some advice I can give to those who are at the beginning of your pinup journey is to start small, start with something as simple as a circle skirt or some red lipstick and work towards creating your unique style. If anyone has anything negative to share with you, this is more often a reflection of themselves than a comment on you. I always listen to people who are negative about me as that’s them sharing their own issues, I don’t take this personally and neither should you, as in the words of Dita:
‘You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches.’
I’m sure it goes without saying but kindness is another powerful tool, I think you should treat others how you wish to be treated in return. Your kindness can uplift someone, it can make you a new friend, it can make someone’s day, and it can do so much more. While judgement is instilled in us from a young age, fight against it.

Some things you can do to start your journey:
Now I hope you’ll challenge yourself to step outside your comfort zone and be the glamorous being you know you are on the inside. Be glamorous, be kind, and be the beautiful person you know you are!
If there are any blogs or videos I can create to assist you on your journey or maybe something you’d like to learn please let me know as I’d love to be able to help you!
Much love,
