Good evening lovelies!
As the week draws to an end, we’re all excited for the weekend and its time for another Friday’s vintage cocktail! As always please remember if I have any younger readers to take note of your states drinking laws, but you can always make a mocktail version of today’s drink!
This evening I have for you a rather zesty drink known as a Tom Collins, a drink that has existed for many years now, first being published by Jerry Thomas in “The Father of American Mixology”, but is believed to date back to the 1760’s, being named after John Collins the head waiter at Limmer’s Old House, the name change took place in the 1860’s with the call for Old Tom gin. Tom Collins come back into fashion during the golden age of glamour with gin being a popular spirit of the time.
Method:
Mix powdered sugar in lemon juice, then pour into glass with gin, and ice cubes then fill with soda water and stir well.
This is a super simple cocktail which is easy to make, and not too many ingredients as well as being very deliciously zesty. I added in a whole jigger of lemon for my recipe as I really love a strong lemon flavour in my drink. I really love this cocktail as it has a soft flavour and as I mentioned before I do love more fruity softer flavours rather than the harsh flavour of liquor! I think this would also make a great punch to make for a vintage party, pour in the ingredients and throw in a few lemon slices and cherries and you’ve got a fabulous punch!
I hope you all have a beautiful weekend, if you’re in Perth there’s so much going on which can be seen in my blog post from earlier today! I’m about to head off to the North Perth Night Markets now, and I hope to see you there!

Aw, this was an incredibly good post. Spending some time
and actual effort to create a superb article… but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and never
seem to get anything done.
Your style is unique in comparison to other folks I have read stuff from.
Thank you for posting when you’ve got the opportunity, Guess I’ll just bookmark this blog.
It’s pretty.
Heya terrific website! Does running a blog such as this take a lot of work?
I have very little knowledge of programming but I was hoping
to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyways, should you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog owners
please share. I know this is off subject however I just had to ask.
Many thanks!
Hey Juvalift! I think more than anything it requires a lot of passion to whatever you choose to blog about! Its really something you need to make time for, but if you love doing it, it really isn’t a chore at all! I have very little knowledge on programming, WordPress does most of the work for me thankfully! Feel free to shoot any other questions you have through! What sort of blog do you want to start?
